Based on the material there are four types of dental crowns

2) Metal Crowns:
As the name suggests, these crowns are made up of metal based alloys. These are non-corrosive, resistant to wear and strong in nature.
3) Gold Alloys:
These crowns are made up of gold alloys. These gold crowns are strong in nature and resistant to wear.
4) Porcelain Fused Metallic Crowns:
Porcelain fused metallic crowns are made up in a combination of porcelain material with metal base.

After placement of a dental implant, the screw must not be left empty. It should be cover with dental crown to restore the functions. After all, the main goal of an implant is to provide and restore chewing and speech functions with improve aesthetics.
Crowns can also be used to cover a fractured tooth, poorly shaped or discolored tooth.
