Facial aesthetics usually refer to non surgical treatments for the face that have rejuvenating or anti-ageing properties. Here at Wood Dental we offer a wide range of facial aesthetic treatments to make noticeable but subtle enhancements to your appearance.
These injections are most commonly administered on the forehead and around the eyes to soften ageing effects. The injections temporarily block the signals from nerves to the underlying tiny muscles and prevent them from contracting. This leaves the overlying skin looking smooth and wrinkle-free while allowing the facial muscles to function as normal.
Other uses of anti-ageing injections is in the underarm to prevent sweating and on the upper lip to treat gummy smiles.
Dermal fillers are made up of Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occuring substance found in the skin that gives it volume, shape, hydration and elasticity. An individuals natural levels of hyaluronic acid diminish with age.
Dermal fillers work by replenishing the hyaluronic acid in selected areas to re-volumise and/or reduce wrinkles.
Dermal fillers are commonly used in the lower half of the face but particularly in the lips, chin and cheeks to help enhance, volumise and define them.
